Nizhny Novgorod hosted today a joint workshop between Gazprom and BASF SE devoted to interaction development in the petrochemical sector.
Vsevolod Cherepanov, Head of the Gas, Gas Condensate and Oil Production Department of Gazprom and Jacques Delmoitiez, Head of Division for Europe, BASF SE delivered their opening speeches to the workshop participants.
ôLast year Surgut hosted the first workshop of the Gazprom and BASF experts considering joint petrochemical projects and chemical products utilization in the gas and oil industries. We have been actively working since then: investigating the opportunities for chemical products and technologies application in well drilling and cementing, gas treatment and energy efficiency enhancement. The results of this activity were appreciated highly enough in the companies to hold workshops promoting petrochemical cooperation on the annual basis.
I am convinced that our meeting today covering a whole number of interesting and topical issues was as successful as the previous one, practically useful and contributing to further experience sharing and partnership deepening between Gazprom and BASF,ö Vsevolod Cherepanov said.
ôThis conference provided a vivid picture on why we need to extend our longstanding and successful cooperation from the established area of oil & gas towards new business areas in chemicals.
I believe that the exciting atmosphere and the valuable discussions here in Nizhny Novgorod laid a solid foundation for further advancing our partnership,ö said Jacques Delmoitiez.
Within the workshop arranged under the auspices of the Coordinating Committee for Strategic Cooperation between Gazprom and BASF, the experts of the companies summarized the interim results of cooperation in the petrochemical sector and considered the topical issues related to the application of chemical agents and technologies for oil and gas production, transmission and processing. Moreover, the workshop participants discussed the prospects for interaction in cutting-edge solutions implementation and state-of-the-art technologies introduction in the gas industry.
