Moscow Cable Networks Implemented Electric Energy Losses Reduction Plan in January 2011

Due to results of operational activity of Moscow Cable Networks (MCN), a branch of JSC “MOESK” over the first month in 2011, electric energy output in grid equals 3,670.97 million kWt-hour.
Efficient output of MCN in January 2011 equals 3,193.11 million kWt-hour which exceeds actual electric energy efficient output over the same period in 2010 by 5.72%.
Electric energy losses in January 2010 have fallen by 6.98% (256.33 million kWt-hour) compared with the same period last year.
Reduction of losses in electric grids is one of priority directions of JSC “MOESK” electric energy transmission activity. To solve this task, the Company implements several measures which have resulted in economy of more than 8 million kWt-hour in January 2011.
Regular raids to reveal unaccounted electric energy consumption have returned over 3.31 million kWt-hour for amount of about RUR 13.5 million only in January 2011.
Besides, optimization of electric grids by building of 6-20 kV cable lines, replacement (from a smaller to a bigger one) of cable and overhead electric energy transmission lines sections at overloaded lines are being implemented, and loading at transformer substations and 0.38 kV electric grids is being matched.
Reliable electric energy provision of consumers at the territory of Moscow is being carried out by three branches of JSC “MOESK”.
Moscow Cable Networks branch operates 0.4-20 kV and 35 kV electric grids for total length exceeding 69,426 km, and 17,243 distributive and transformer substations carrying out electric energy transmission for living and public houses, city building objects, electrified transport, and industry enterprises all over Moscow, as follows: from Kremlin to Kurkino and Butovo including Zelenograd and Scherbinka.
Structure of Central Electric Networks includes 124 units of 35-110-220 kilovolt (kV) substations, 35-110-220 kV overhead electric energy transmission lines for total length exceeding 1,144 km, and over 500 km of 0.4-20 kV energy transmission cable lines located within the capital.
High Voltage Cable Networks, a branch of JSC “MOESK” serves over 280 110-500 kV high voltage electric energy transmission lines for total length of about 900 km, and 1,125 cable constructions. Cable and cable-overhead lines of HVCN make connections among more than 150 feeding centers. Electric energy passing through grids of HVCN branch equaled more than 73 billion kWt-hour in 2010.
