On the eve of the professional holiday – the Chemist Day, a 2.5-millionth ton of isoprene was produced at the isoprene monomer plant of OAO Nizhnekamskneftekhim since the time it had been commissioned.
Production of isoprene using the so-called single-stage technology at this plant began in 2001. Mastering of this process has not only lowered the production costs and specific consumption of thermal energy, but has also reduced the amount of harmful emissions into the atmosphere.
Activities at the plant are still under way as part of the program of expansion of single-stage isoprene production.
