MOSENERGO (TGC-3)

May 31, 2004

In the third quarter 2004, AO MOSENERGO will complete the construction of Businovo pump station

By the start of the next heating season, AO MOSENERGO plans to complete the construction of Businovo pump station.

The maximal capacity of the new pump station reaches 7,400 cubic meters of hot water per hour. By estimates of AO MOSENERGO's specialists, next year the power consumption in the North East district would grow due to higher housing construction rates. In addition, the pump station should be built to protect the heating system from pressure fluctuations.

Businovo NPS will be fully automatic. The modern equipment will make it possible to considerably increase the reliability of power supply. In particular, the station will have double protection that will neutralize hydraulic impacts resulting from pressure fluctuations in the heating system. Many units were purchased from leading foreign producers such as Allen Bradley, Klinger, Auma, etc. This equipment is highly reliable and has long operation life.

In addition, Businovo pump station will have lower maintenance costs compared to older facilities. Pumps at the station have new-type bearings that can run at 70 degrees Centigrade without additional cooling. The new design reduces power consumption and the saves room in the pump department. The freed space is used to install the protection equipment.

AO MOSENERGO plans to launch the new pump station in the autumn 2004. The Company uses its own funds to finance the project.
