Rosseti launched the 220 kV, Industrial Cluster, substation serving as the supply center for Nadezhdinskaya accelerated development territory in the Primorie Region

The gala ceremony of the launch of the 220 kV, Industrial Cluster, substation took place on Day 1 of the Eastern Economic Forum in the outskirts of Vladivostok. Residents of the Nadezhdinskaya accelerated development territory will get electricity from it. Rosseti Group of Companies invested RUB 2.3 billion in the technical connection project.

Mr. Alexander Novak, Russian Minister of Energy, Mr. Pavel Livinskiy,  Rosseti's CEO,  Mr. Andrey Murov,  Management Board Chairman of FGC UES PJSC,  representatives of Far East Development Corporation JSC, the management company of the territory of advanced development and the Free Port of Vladivostok in Far East,  took part in the ceremony.

The project was carried out as part of Rosseti FGC UES's cooperation with KRDV JSC. The new power facility's capacity is 126 MVA. In addition, the 550 kV Vladivostok substation, the key power supply center of the Primorie Region's capital, has been expanded. A newly built 30-km power grid connected the facilities.

This enabled the development of the production and trading platform with a multi-modal transportation and procurement facility, the Primorie housing construction facility and the stage-wise setting-up of the single machine and tool making, metal working and construction material production plant on the Nadezhdinskaya accelerated development territory.

Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. Alexander Novak, Russian Energy Minister, noted that the Far East development was the strategic objective for the state.

"Positive steps have been taken to raise investments and improve living standards in the region. The energy infrastructure development plays a special part. The Industrial Cluster substation will enable to implement new important projects for the socio-economic development of the Primorie Region", told the Russian Energy Minister.

"By completing the Industrial Cluster substation, Rosseti allowed for external power supply to the sixth accelerated-development territory in the Far East, including three in the Primorie Region. "All projects were carried out by our subsidiary, Rosseti FGC UES,  on time or ahead of time, " emphasized Mr. Pavel Livinskiy,  Rosseti's CEO.

The cutting-edge technologies were applied in 220 kV, Industrial Cluster, substation. The key equipment, power converters, are fitted up with the state-of-the-art monitoring modules. The intelligent process control systems  based on the MEC 61850 digital data exchange protocol and electricity commercial accounting have been implemented. Over 90% equipment is made in Russia.

For reference:

Nadezhdinskaya accelerated-development territory established by the Russian Government Decree of June 25, 2015, was the first one in the Primorie Region. 49 residents are operating in the Nadezhdinskaya accelerated-development territory. The full implementation of the declared projects worth of the total of RUB 32.5 billion will help create more than 4,500 new jobs.

The requests for connection of eight platforms in the advanced-development territories for more than 785 MW capacity are being handled by Rosseti FGC UES. The company is supplying electricity to the Bolshoy Kamen and Mikhailovsky advanced-development territories here, in the Primorie Region. The Primorie Region is among the major recipients of Rosseti's investments. The plan is to implement some 100 projects worth of over RUB 27 billion, to commission 958 MVA transformer capacity and 443 km of power lines in the region in the next 6 years (in 2019/2024).
