To reduce injury rate during exploitation of auto-transport, the company has worked out a complex program of preventive measures.

To reduce injury rate during exploitation of auto-transport at IDGC of North-West, the year 2009 was announced “The Year of Safe Transportation”.The Specialists of the Department for Productive Control under the Executive Office of IDGC of North-West have worked out a complex of preventive measures to prevent injuries and accidents during exploitation of transport. The complex program will be implemented at all branches of the company.According to the Head of the Department for Productive Control Roman Yakobson, analysis shows the leading position of injuring from road traffic accidents at IDGC of North-West.

“Analysis of investigations of accidents which took place in 2008 shows that injuring and death from road traffic accidents happen because of failure to comply with road traffic regulations by both personnel and off-site drivers. Moreover, absence of necessary practice of driving in complicated conditions and insufficient knowledge in traffic safety bases also influence the injuring rate,” mentioned Roman Yakobson (at the picture).

Changes will be made to the system of putting automobiles in the course of work in 2009 within the frameworks of the complex program on prevention of road traffic accidents at IDGC of North-West. Much attention will be given to improvement of training of the personnel engaged in exploitation, maintenance and repair of transport.

The work on equipping of drivers with necessary guard, communication facilities, alarm systems, tools, gadgets and tools for state of health inspection will be carried out actively at branches of IDGC of North-West. Personnel will practice driving in complicated natural and climatic conditions at a special training ground. Experienced inspectors of State Road Traffic Safety Inspection (STSI) will be invited as instructors.

Moreover, rooms of safe exploitation of auto transport at branches of IDGC of North-West must be equipped with necessary technical means under the campaign “2009 is the Yeas of Safe Transporting”.
