Led by Alexey Miller, Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee, Gazprom’s delegation has paid a visit to Germany.

In the course of the trip Alexey Miller met with Michael Glos, German Minister of Economy, Dr. Jurgen Hambrecht, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of BASF AG, Dr. Wulf Bernotat, Chairman of the Board of Management & CEO of E.ON AG and Dr. Burckhard Bergmann, Chairman of the Board of E.ON Ruhrgas AG.

The parties highly appreciated the results of joint gas businesses, focusing on the construction of the North European Gas Pipeline projected to foster higher and diversified safety & security of gas deliveries to Europe and to meet soaring gas demand in the European market.

The meeting emphasized that the German Government had established a favorable environment for Russian-German partnership ties in the energy sector.

Michael Glos expressed his satisfaction with the settlement of the gas conflict between Russia and Ukraine, pointing to Gazprom’s adherence to pro-market principles of gas business and straightforward measures towards securing gas supply to European consumers.

When meeting with the E.ON AG and E.ON Ruhrgas AG’s leadership, Alexey Miller discussed the prospects for the joint power generation projects implementation and ways of promoting mutually beneficial cooperation with E.ON AG along the entire business chain including gas production, transmission and marketing.

Alexey Miller underscored that the mutually beneficial long-term cooperation embracing the entire business cycle was a basic principle of cooperation between Russian and German energy firms.
