On staff appointments in Gazoenergeticheskaya Kompaniya

Pursuant to a Gazprom order Denis Fyodorov has been named as Director General of Gazoenergeticheskaya Kompaniya.

Denis Fedorov was born in July 1978 in Obninsk (Kaluga oblast). In 2001 he graduated from the Bauman Moscow State Technical University majoring in economics and business management. He holds a PhD degree in economics.

In 2004 – 2005 D. Fyodorov headed the Investment Technology and Technological Project Directorate in Eurosibpower Engineering.

In 2005–2006 he headed the Investment Technology and Technological Project Directorate in Gazenergoprom Corporation. In 2006 he was appointed as Adviser to Director General in Mezhregiongaz (a wholly owned subsidiary of Gazprom).

From 2007 he headed Gazprom’s Directorate for the Development of the Power Sector and Marketing in Power Generation.

 

Background:

In April 2007 the Board of Directors of Gazprom endorsed the Company’s Power Generation Strategy mainly focused on enhancing Gazprom’s capitalization by boosting returns on equity capital, optimizing Russia’s fuel balance and achieving a synergetic effect in the gas and power sectors.

The Strategy contemplates setting up a holding company for the consolidation of power assets in Gazprom Group. Gazoenergeticheskaya Kompaniya represents such a holding company and is wholly owned by Gazprom.

The major corporate tasks related to the holding company formation based on Gazoenergeticheskaya Kompaniya have been resolved between 2007 and 2009. The holding company’s largest assets are currently as follows:

- 99.2 per cent of the shares in TSENTRENERGOHOLDING owning inter alia 44.4 per cent of the shares in OGC-2, 42.9 per cent of the shares in OGC-6, 4.8 per cent of the shares in TGC-13 and 4.4 per cent of the shares in Kuzbassenergo;

- 8.3 per cent of the shares in INTER RAO UES;

- 4.4 per cent of the shares in FGC UES.
