First voyage of PRISCO tanker “Sakhalin Island”

On May 26 tanker “Sakhalin Island” came to Odessa for the first loading. On May 18 the vessel left Croatia port Split and started its first voyage. It was bunkered in Istanbul and is preparing for loading of oil products in the Ukraine port. Vyacheslav Philippov, Master of the tanker reports “Sakhalin Island" will go to Morocco coasts. Tanker “Sakhalin Island” of 108,000 tons dwt. was built for PRISCO at Brodosplit Shipyard, Croatia. Now building of one more Aframax “Governor Farkhutdinov” is coming to an end. This tanker will join PRISCO fleet in summer 2004 just after “Sakhalin Island”. New PRISCO tankers are equipped with the up-to-date devices which will provide high speed of loading and safety, bow loading device will simplify reception of cargo from Oil Terminals. Double hulls of new tankers, ice class and oil products loading control systems guarantee absolute environment protection as well as in the north conditions. PRISCO is going on to realize Fleet Renovation Program. It has already placed orders for building of five more new large tonnage tankers at South Korean Shipyard Hyundai Heavy Industries: three Aframaxes of 100,000 tons dwt. and two Suezmaxes of 166 tons. dwt.
