IDGC of North-West got the recovery of losses which accounts for RUR 279.4 million.

As a result of work of the economic safety subdivisions of IDGC of North-West in 2009 they detected 34 facts of material precious things thefts from the electric power objects and initiated 58 criminal cases and brought to responsibility 17 persons. Together with the specialists of subdivisions of the economic safety they recovered the loss for the total amount of RUR 279.4 million.

During the past year the economic safety subdivisions prevented the material loss of the company which accounts for RUR 295.6 million. The preventive work included the check up of the business partners before the signing of the agreements, rendering of help to the low enforcement agencies in work with criminal cases as well as the activities directed to rendering of help in claiming work. According to the results of business partners’ check up (all in all, they checked up 2,688 contracts) they gave 106 negative conclusions on the topicality of further cooperation. (In 2008 - 82).

The work of subdivisions of the economic safety of IDGC of North-West directed to the prevention of the thefts helped to increase the reliability of power supply, decreasing the break in power transmission to the consumers 3,7-fold. In 2009 the break in power supply as a result of thefts from the electric power objects accounted for 86 hours versus 317 in the year of 2008.

The amount of damage caused to IDGC of North-West as a result of thefts from the objects of the electric power in 2009 decreased down to RUR 2.2. million versus 4.6 million in 2008. The amount of losses decreased 1.7-fold including the non-ferrous metals – 2-fold.
