Aeroflot-Russian Airlines makes the first step realizing the large-scale campaign of rebranding – it starts the activity on increasing attractiveness of stewards’ job “Aeroflot is your company!” and announces contest among young people for work in Aeroflot Service Aboard Department. The main target auditorium of the company will be undergraduates of Moscow universities since Aeroflot traditionally tough requirements to its stewards regarding the level and quality of education, knowledge of foreign languages.
The active phase of the campaign will last till the end of May, 2004, and cover about 50 institutes of higher education. During the action several decorated cars will drive along the city with stewards in new uniform and animators in T-shirts with the sign “Aeroflot is my company”. Animation teams will spread out among students information about Aeroflot, opportunities and advantages of the work in Service Aboard Department, requirements to the competition and education in Personnel Training Center of the airline company. Candidates’ registration for steward training is to be carried out in the Service Aboard Department.
The final event of the action will be the gala performance of Russian pop-stars that is to take place on May 31, 2004, in honor of the World Day of Stewards.
By the way, the most beautiful girls of Russia – winners of the interactive national beauty contest “Miss Universe, Russia” will be able to become stewardesses of the national airline company. They are provided with special right to train in Aeroflot Steward School.
“Aeroflot wants to revive the former popularity and prestige of stewards’ job”, Igor Chunikhin, Aeroflot Service Aboard Department Head says. “We are going to hire the most talented, purposeful, active people. After professional training they are to confirm Aeroflot stewards’ prestige as the heartiest persons, the best ones in the world”, Mr. Chunikhin says.
