OAO Nizhnekamskneftekhim’s Rubbers up to the World Standard

On November 16-17, 2011, the Conference “Application Performances of OAO NKNK’s Rubbers and Development Prospects” was held at the Research and Development Center (R&D), OAO Nizhnekamskneftekhim. Among participants were representatives of consumers using Nizhnekamsk Rubbers as raw materials, as well as developers and producers of components for rubber compounds.
OAO Nizhnekamskneftekhim is a leading producer of synthetic rubbers (SR) in Russia. In 2010, the record quantity of SR was produced over the Company’s history – above 500 thousand tons. The Company’s share in the total volume of SR produced by the companies-members of the Sintezkauchuk Association amounted to 43% based on the 9 months’ results of the current year. OAO Nizhnekamskneftekhim successfully cooperates with the largest overseas tire companies, including Michelin, Goodyear, Pirelli, Continental, Bridgestone and Belshina Group.
Currently, the Company produces 7 synthetic rubber types, works are underway to revamp the equipment and improve the rubber application properties, as well as to develop new grades demanded by consumers. Fro this purpose, on the basis of the R&D pilot plant, within the State Contract for execution of the significant project under the Federal Target Program “Research and Development in Priority Directions of R&D Complex Development in Russia for 2007-2012”, a new pilot plant was put into operation for production of ethylene-propylene rubber (EPDM), to be employed for trial tests of production technologies for elastomers and superfine petrochemical products to satisfy the highest consumer demands.
