Gazprom’s Management Committee examined subsidiaries’ operating results for 2003-2004 autumn-winter heating season

Gazprom’s Management Committee approved the Company’s subsidiaries’ performance during the 2003-2004 autumn-winter heating season and set a range of tasks to make preparations for the next autumn-winter period.

The Management Committee pointed out that over the past autumn-winter heating season Gazprom’s subsidiaries’ had ensured sustainable gas deliveries to Russian consumers and fulfilled their gas export obligations.

Within the reporting period Gazprom produced 289.1 bcm of gas, 4.1 bcm up against the same period in 2002-2003. Gas production was built up largely due to commissioning the 2nd phase of the UKPG-2S and the 1st phase of the UKPG-3S comprehensive gas treatment units located at the Zapolyarnoye field; developing the Vyngayakhinskoye gas field and the Valanzhin deposits of the Yen-Yakhinskoye field; launching 10 booster stations and 296 production wells.

In order to cope with the plans approved and to ensure secure and uninterrupted functioning of the United Gas Transmission System (UGTS) within the 2004-2005 autumn-winter heating season, Gazprom’s Management Committee ordered the Company’s core business departments and subsidiaries to:

  1. elaborate in a month’s time major directions of activities aimed to prepare the Company’s subsidiaries for the upcoming autumn-winter heating season and to submit respective proposals for the Management Committee Chairman’s approval;
  2. implement all the necessary measures to prepare the UGTS faculties for the 2004-2005 autumn-winter heating season and to ensure:
  • commissioning the 2nd stage of the UKPG-3S comprehensive gas treatment unit located at the Zapolyarnoye field;
  • bringing into operation a gas treatment unit at the Pestsovoye field, a gas pretreatment unit at the Aneryakhinskaya area of the Yamburgskoye field and a gas pretreatment unit at the Yety-Purovskoye field;
  • commissioning 14 compressor stations with the total capacity of 1,251 thousand kW;
  • launching 336 gas production wells;
  • building up the daily throughput capacity of UGS facilities in withdrawing 16 million cubic meters of gas;
  1. ensure for not less than 62.5 bcm of commercial gas reserves to be stockpiled by the start of the next autumn-winter heating season.
