KAMAZ-Metallurgy Inc. has expressed its intention to cooperate with an ELKEM company from Norway.
The agreement between the two companies has been achieved during the visit to Russia of Pavel Saffonov, the representative of the Norway Company. It was ELKEM that has initiated this visit to offer its services and establish cooperation with the management of KAMAZ-Metallurgy Inc.
ELKEM is producing modifiers and other materials used as additives for iron-foundry casting. Additionally, it is also carrying out scientific researches and has even got its own Research Center. ELKEM provides its customers for free of charge consultations and assists in solving various engineering problems. The KAMAZ Foundries are especially interested in solving of a problem of a high-duty cast iron waste reduction, which they often face while a piston ring and a crankcase casting. A press release of the PR Dept. of KAMAZ-Metallurgy Inc informs that the castings, which have a high shrink, will be manufactured with the use of Norway materials. It should be noted that ELKEMís products have already being purchased by the major Russian OEMs such as VAZ and GAZ.
