In 2003 UTK branch «Sevosetinelectrosvyaz» provided telecom services for the sum of RUR 569.7 million gaining 32,9 % over a year-ago period. Length of fiber-optic communication lines has made 93.7 km (158.7 % on the last year).

2003 capital expenditures amounted to RUR 217.3 million (102.14% of the yearly plan), telephone network was built in 13 inhabited localities. Volume of information transferred via Internet increased by 170,9 % compared to the previous year including via the dedicated channels — by 9.7 times. Revenues from providing new telecom services stood at RUR 17.8 million making 3,1 % of the total amount of services.

In 2003 the number of basic telephone sets has increased by 13 103 telephones (161,7% compared to the previous year). The capacity of digital automatic telephone exchanges has made 92762 lines (66,4 % of the total installed capacity of republican urban telephone network and 69.8% of the total installed capacity of its rural TN). Digitization rate in UTK branch «Sevosetinelectrosvyaz» has reached 67.0 %. At the beginning of 2004 the installed capacity of republican urban TN has made 139612 lines, 130838 of them being equipped, the installed capacity of republican rural TN has made 27760 lines, 25521 of them being equipped. Year-on-year growth has constituted 100,7% in urban TN and 104,4 % in rural TN.

770 pay-phones operate in the local telephone network, 280 of them being universal phones using pre-paid telephone card, including 80 pay-phones of UVKT-200 type manufactured by the company «Katram» and 200 pay-phones of TMS-1517K4 type (26 %), using a single pre-paid telephone card. Number of universal pay-phones in 2003 has increased by 200 units.
