PRISCO has signed a Contract for building of Suezmaxes

On March 31, 2004 in Moscow Primorsk Shipping Corporation signed a Contract with Hyundai Heavy Industries for building of 2 tankers of Suezmax type. New PRISCO vessels will have length 285 m, breadth 50 m and draught 15 m; deadweight of each tanker will be 166,000 tons. According to the Contract these vessels will be included into PRISCO fleet in 2007. They are planned to be used in Baltic, that is why they will have ice class as well as all necessary characteristics for transportation of cargoes in the North and possibility to cross shallow channels joining Baltic Sea and Atlantic Ocean. These tankers will be built at Hyundai Heavy Industries Shipyard in Ulsan (South Korea) and will be first vessels of Suezmax class in PRISCO fleet. Currently Primorsk Shipping Corporation is building two large-tonnage Aframax tankers of 108,000 tons dwt. each at Brodosplit Shipyard, Croatia and has placed an order in South Korea for building of three more Aframax tankers of 100,000 tons dwt. each which will be used for transportation of Sakhalin-I Project oil.
