On Alexey Miller and Lord Browne’s working meeting

Gazprom’s Headquarters today hosted a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Gazprom’s Management Committee Chairman and Lord Browne, President of BP Group.

The meeting addressed potential bilateral cooperation on the global and Russian energy markets.

Simultaneously, the parties discussed interaction between the companies on the liquefied natural gas market, pondering, in particular, on pipeline gas to LNG swap transactions.

Special emphasis was laid upon BP’s potential involvement in the North-European gas pipeline project.

The meeting also reviewed issues on the gas industry development in Eastern Siberia and the Far East, the Kovyktinskoye field development inclusive. The parties resolved to keep on discussing potential cooperation within the Sakhalin projects being a Russia’s paramount challenge in accordance with a Program on natural resources exploitation in Eastern Siberia and the Far East.

The company has branches in more than 100 countries of the world. BP recovers a total of 4 mln boe/d and some 85 bcm of gas per annum. In 2003, the company provided its customers with 220 bcm of gas.

BP holds a 50% stake in TNK-BP (Russia) and is a business partner of Rosneft in implementing the Sakhalin-5 Project.
