In 2003, OJSC “Surgutneftegas” gained 39% of its annual oil production applying advanced EOR and well stimulation methods. This indicator takes into account the effect of such operations achieved over a period of years.

In total, the Company performed 6,744 EOR operations in 2003 and thus produced an additional 6 mn tons of oil, 1.7 mn of which were extracted from side-tracked wells.

OJSC “Surgutneftegas” considerably extended the scale of application of advanced development technologies. The Company constructed 48% more horizontal boreholes, side-tracked 47% more wells, and performed 17% more hydrofrac operations. In 2003, we commissioned 144 horizontal wells, side-tracked 305 wells, drilled 8 multi-bore wells and performed 362 hydrofrac operations.

Average daily production increased by 13.7 thousand tons to total 1.08 mn bbl.

The Company reached high EOR application efficiency thanks to its own servicing divisions, who do not yield to first-class western service companies in terms of their state-of-the-art equipment, skilled personnel and high operating efficiency.

This year, we are planning to treat over 5,000 operating wells, perform 400 hydrofrac operations and side-track 343 wells.
