Russian electricity exports to Georgia remain unchanged

Electricity exports from Russia to the Republic of Georgia remain unchanged, with the volume of electricity provided in accordance with the agreement with the State Energy System of Georgia, i.e. 200 MW. At the same time, because of the accident at the Lisi substation owned by State Energy System of Georgia, there was a decrease in the power transfer capacity of the transmission line linking the energy systems of Georgia and Armenia. As a result, the electricity exports from Armenia to Georgia decreased from 170 MW to 100 MW, which caused energy shortages in the city of Tbilisi.

RAO "UES of Russia" Holding, which controls electricity exports from Armenia to Georgia, is ready to resume the electricity transfers to Georgia in the previous volume (170 MW) , as soon as repair crews of the State Energy System of Georgia restore operation of the Lisi substation.
