On February 24th, 2004a regular meeting of the Management Board was held at ALROSA’s Mirny office, with President of Sakha (Yakutia) Vyacheslav Shtyrov also attending.
The Board okayed beginning design work for the Udachny Underground Mine the construction of which is scheduled to commence in 2005.
To improve management efficiency and reduce construction costs the Board approved a program aimed at restructuring and optimizing the company’s construction capabilities.
Necessary measures and schedule to bring the Nyurba GOK (Integrated Mining and Processing Complex) to full production capacity were also granted approval.
Some other issues pertaining to the company’s operations were discussed.
