| Yevgeny Ivanov, the President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rosbank has accepted an offer from the management of MMC Norilsk Nickel to head a gold mining company that is being formed on the basis of the Polyus Joint Stock Company.
In accordance with his decision to accept the offer, E. Ivanov has approached Rosbank’s Board of Directors with a request that he be released from his duties as President and Chairman of the Board of Directors at the bank.
A new Board of Directors is to be elected at an extraordinary meeting of the bank’s shareholders on February 19, which will consider E. Ivanov’s request. His name is at present on the list of candidates for the new Board of Directors.

E. Ivanov was born in 1966, in the town of Razgrad in Bulgaria. In 1990 he graduated form the Moscow Finance Institute (the State Finance Academy) as a specialist in international economic relations.
Having graduated from the institute, he worked for the USSR State bank (Gosbank), and for the Central Bank of the Russian Federation. In 1997 he went to work for the UNEXIM Bank, where he was responsible for establishing its Precious Metals Department. From 1999 to 2000 he was Deputy Chairman of Rosbank’s Management Board, and was responsible for the bank’s customer relations policies.
From September 2000 to February 2003 Evgeny Ivanov was Chairman of Rosbank’s Management Board.
From February 2003 he has occupied the posts of President and Chairman of the bank’s Board of Directors. He is also Vice President of the Association of Russian Banks (ARB) and the National Representative of Russian Banks on the Board of Directors of VISA CEMEA (the regions of Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa).

Polyus also holds licenses to work the Tyradinsk, Olen’, and Blagodatny deposits, as well as the Titimukhta deposits. In October 2002, a 100% shareholding in the company was acquired by MMC Norilsk Nickel
