PRISCO vessels in the Far Eastern region

M/t “Azija” of 40,000 tons dwt. transporting Sakhalin oil from De-Kastri has been changed for 5 tankers of “Samotlor” type each of 17,000 tons dwt. as PRISCO Information and Advertising Department said. These double hull vessels of ice-strengthened class are capable to work in difficult ice conditions without ice-breaker assistance. Valeriy Petrashov, Head of the Operative Division of PRISCO Fleet Department said that “Eniseysk”, “Kamensk-Uralskiy”, “Vilyuysk”, “BAM” and “Usinsk” are transporting Sakhalin oil to Chinese ports. “Gornopravdinsk” and “Berezovo” two more tankers with ice-strengthened hulls provide transportation of fuel oil from Vanino to China. Tankers will work on Vanino and De-Kastri routes till April. From 2003 PRISCO vessels have been supplying drilling platform “Molickpack” with oil products. In the beginning of February of this year m/t “Roschino” has delivered 2.600 tons of fuel to oilmen. With beginning of winter and formation of firm ice cover in the Sea of Okhotsk two PRISCO tankers of “Partizansk” type each of 3,000 tons dwt. started to transport oil products on Magadan route. M/t “Belogorsk” has delivered oil to the capital of the Kolyma region and is going to Nakhodka for loading. Administration of Magadan Commercial Sea Port has prepared for winter navigation and provided ice-breaker assistance for vessels in advance, that is why oil products are being discharged in time. There is a different situation in the port of Vanino which Administration in spite of taking ice-breaker charges from Shipowners all the year round including summer has not provided acceptable conditions for delivery of cargo to the berths. PRISCO vessels as well as vessels of other companies calling at this port have to work in difficult ice conditions without ice-breaker assistance.
