The winners of the XIII Competition of Annual Reports were awarded on 19 November 2010 within the framework of the Annual Working Meeting of JSC “RTS” with issuers and management companies. A record number of Russian and foreign companies over the history of the competition existence have taken part in the Competition: their number has equaled 138. The Annual Report of JSC “MOESK” has won in the nomination “The Best Annual Report in Electric Power Industry Sector”

Besides, the company Standard & Poor’s has presented the results of the research focused on information transparency of Russia’s largest public companies for 2010 during the working meeting. According to the research data, energy companies have improved their indicators from 51% to 57%. Moreover, the research has especially pointed to JSC “MOESK”, “which noticeably improves its transparency two years on end: the indicator of JSC “MOESK” has grown almost by 20 points since 2008”.

Information transparency research is not an analytical project of Standard & Poor’s and the Center of Economic and Financial Researches and Developments under Russian Economic School (CEFIR RESH). It merely uses the information available in public sources (annual reports, websites and reporting submitted to regulatory authorities). The research has been held in respect of Russia’s 90 largest companies having the most liquid shares. The criterion of selection is based on the ratio between the company size and liquidity of its shares.

The Competition of Annual Reports has been held by the RTS stock exchange since 1998 and is the main platform for presentations by the companies of their annual reports. The purpose of the competition is assistance to effective disclosure of the information for investors and clients.
