In 2003 21 new products expanded the product mix of JSC "Severstal". Shipbuilding steel shipments increased by 30 % in relation to 2002 level

In 2003 JSC "Severstal" was issued with the Russian Marine Register of Navigation recognition certificate for manufacture of rolled products of 12 new grades commercially produced in BOF and EAF shops. According to this certificate, the new products for shipbuilding meet the requirements for classification, construction and equipment of the offshore drilling rigs and stationary offshore platforms norms. The rolled products for this application are produced both in HSM-1 and HSM-3 (mill 5000).

Besides, in 2003 JSC "Severstal" received the certificate of the American Bureau of Navigation (ABS) for 6 new categories of shipbuilding steel produced from BOF and EAF shop commercial product mix in 2003.

In 2003 the steel company shipped 118.5 thousand tons of shipbuilding steel.
