Meeting of EuRoPol GAZ Supervisory Board held

Moscow hosted today a meeting of EuRoPol GAZ Supervisory Board chaired by Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom.

Representing the Russian party was Sergey Emelyanov, First Deputy Director General, Gazprom export. The Polish party was represented by Michal Szubski, President of the Management Board of PGNiG, Miroslaw Dobrut, Slawomir Hinc and Radoslaw Dudzinski, Vice Presidents of the Management Board of PGNiG.

The parties addressed the issues related to running and managing the current activities of the joint venture, as well as to compiling the statement for Poland’s Energy Regulation Office on the approval of the tariff for natural gas transit across Poland in 2010.

In addition, the parties discussed the prospects for extending the current contracts for gas transmission through the Polish section of the Yamal – Europe gas pipeline until 2037.

During the meeting, a draft version of the tariff statement for 2010 was agreed and approved, as well as further steps for the Russian-Polish cooperation development in the gas sector were outlined.

 

Background:

The EuRoPol GAZ Transit Gas Pipeline System was incorporated in September 1993 within the Intergovernmental Agreement on the construction of a gas pipeline system for Russian gas transit across Poland and Russian gas supply to Poland, dated August 25, 1993. The core areas of EuRoPol GAZ activities include engineering, construction and operation of the Polish section of the Yamal – Europe gas pipeline.

EuRoPol GAZ is the owner of a 684-kilometer-long Polish section of the Yamal – Europe gas pipeline and five compressor stations, jointly providing for the gas pipeline capacity of some 30 billion cubic meters per annum.

Gazprom and PGNiG SA are the major shareholders of EuRoPol GAZ.

Natural gas is supplied through the Polish section of the Yamal – Europe gas pipeline in pursuance with the agreements effective till 2019.
