Ashgabat (Turkmenistan) has hosted today the 12th Turkmen International Conference “Oil and Gas of Turkmanistan-2007” (TIOGE-2007).

Attending the Conference was a Gazprom delegation chaired by Valery Golubev, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee.

The execution of accords achieved set in the Intergovernmental Agreement signed on April 10, 2003 opens new horizons for cooperation between Russian and Turkmen companies. The construction of the Precaspian gas pipeline is the largest joint project.

Valery Golubev also specified that Gazprom considered its participation in the gas exploration and production in the Caspian Sea offshore area as well as gas chemical projects to be the most relevant and perspective cooperation directions.

The reporter said that the cooperation between Gazprom and Turkmenistan was not limited to production business. The Company plans to rapidly develop joint educational projects. Particularly, the parties plan to establish a branch of Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas as well as to prepare Turkmen applicants for entering the Russian oil and gas universities.

The Conference will last for two days and will end up on November 15.
