Igor
Makovskiy, who previously headed Yantarenergo, will take up the
duties of General Director of IDGC of Centre.
The Board of Directors of IDGC of Centre coordinated its
appointment from 19 September 2018 to the position of the head of
IDGC of Centre, at the moment who is also the sole executive body of
IDGC of Centre and Volga Region (all companies are part of Rosseti
Group).
IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region provide
services for transmission and distribution of electricity, as well as
connection to power grids in 20 regions of the Central and Volga
Federal Districts.
In his new position, Igor Makovskiy was tasked with replicating
the successful experience gained in the Kaliningrad region with
regard to increasing the efficiency, reliability and quality of
electricity supply for consumers of all categories, paying special
attention to the implementation of Rosseti Group’s strategy to
construct an intelligent grid complex in Russia by the end of 2030.
"Igor Makovskiy has 15 years of experience in the energy
sector. He excellently showed himself as General Director of
"Yantarenergo". Under his leadership, all the state tasks
were performed flawlessly, starting with the construction of grid
infrastructure necessary for commissioning of new generation
facilities, finishing preparations for and carrying out the events of
the 2018 World Cup. An unprecedented level of reliability of energy
supply to consumers was achieved through the implementation of
activities within the digital grid construction in the region.
"Yantarenergo" became the first company in Rosseti Group,
which fully completed the pilot project for the creation of the
"Digital Distribution Zone" in two districts of the
Kaliningrad region. Power engineers of Yantarenergo adequately coped
with the work in the framework of the All-Russian exercises in the
Republic of Dagestan and showed one of the best results among the
subsidiaries of Rosset Group. Igor Makovskiy is responsible,
initiative, focused on the result, and that in my opinion, it is
especially important that he is not afraid of difficult tasks and
ambitious challenges," Pavel Livinskiy, Director General of
Rosseti, commented on the appointment.
The company "Yantarenergo" under the leadership of Igor
Makovskiy for several years is the unchallenged leader in Rosseti
Group for improving the reliability and quality of electricity supply
to consumers of all categories. During this period, thanks to new
approaches to the preparation and management of energy facilities of
the grid infrastructure, regardless of the increase in the number of
hazardous meteorological phenomena, the failure rate in the grids was
reduced by more than 15 times. During the same period, SAIDI (System
Average Interruption Duration Index) and SAIFI (System Average
Interruption Frequency Index) were improved as a whole by 2 times for
the Kaliningrad region.
The implementation of advanced technologies both into the
production process and into the management system allowed
"Yantarenergo" to stabilize its financial position.
The effectiveness of the implemented set of measures by
"Yantarenergo", headed by Igor Makovskiy, on the territory
of the Kaliningrad region is so significant that it was decided to
extend the experience throughout the territory of Russia.
Regional authorities have repeatedly noted the significant
contribution of "Yantarenergo" and personally Igor
Makovskiy to the creation of modern infrastructure in the Kaliningrad
region and the developing the potential of the westernmost territory
of the country.
"For the first time in many years, the power engineers of the
Kaliningrad region are working ahead of their plans, contributing to
the social and economic development of our entire region. A striking
example is the construction of substations to provide power supply to
industrial parks, as well as the "Beregovaya" substation
constructed for the 2018 World Cup. Both the region and investors
receive free electric power for promising projects. It can be seen
that under the leadership of Igor Makovskiy, the Kaliningrad Region
Government and "Yantarenergo" had one common goal: creating
conditions for the development of the territory and the comfortable
life of Kaliningraders," said Kaliningrad Region Governor Anton
Alikhanov.
Today, IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region face a
large-scale task of transitioning to the digital mode of operation,
changes will affect all areas of the power grid complex, require
non-standard thinking, fundamentally new solutions in planning and
operation, and changes in the structure of the energy companies as
well.
Igor Makovskiy possesses all the necessary qualities and
experience for successful implementation of the set plans to increase
the efficiency and reliability of electric grids in the regions of
the Central and Volga Federal Districts.
