Mordovian companies owe over 300 million rubles for electricity

At the present time, Mordovenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC, acutely suffers from electricity debts. As of August 01, 2015, the total debt of Mordovenergo's partners for electric power supplies exceeded 300 million rubles. The worst non-payers include Mordovelektroteploset, JSC; VKM-Stal, LLC; Energolin, JSC; Elektroteploset, LLC; Mordovian Grid Company, LLC; FKP Saransk Mechanical Plant; Remstroymash, JSC; MP of the Lyambirskiy District RM Housing and Utilities Elkhovskoe. Refraining from necessary actions to settle their bills, most of the above companies even increase their debt due to accrued penalties and outstanding state duty.
Mordovenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC, reminds that such non-payment for services may result in lawsuits and seizure of settlement accounts of the debtors. As a remedy for persistent non-payments, Mordovenergo is entitled to restrict power supplies as per the applicable law.
Failure to pay electricity bills disrupts financing of repair and investment programs of Mordovenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC, and thus prevents Mordovenergo from performing production programs of the energy system in due time and preparing the electric grid complex of the Republic of Mordovia for the autumn and winter season. As a result of such non-payments, Mordovenergo has to take out loans to fulfill its own obligations and thus incur extra expenses associated with interest payments. By contrast, debtors use money of IDGC of Volga, PJSC on an interest-free basis.
Financial difficulties cannot be accepted as an excuse for negligence of obligations to the electric grid company. Most responsible and disciplined payers include Rusenergosbyt, LLC; MagnitEnergo, LLC; MP Gorsvet; RegionEnergoKontrakt, LLC and Mordovtsement, LLC.
Jointly with the Government of the Republic of Mordovia and law enforcement agencies, Mordovenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC, takes all possible measures to fix the non-payment problems using all mechanisms to improve the electricity settlement procedure and overall payment discipline, including regular claims management efforts to deal with non-payments. Pursuant to the Order of the Government of the Republic of Mordovia, a special commission was formed to monitor the financial condition, improve payment discipline and settle debts for fuel and energy resources in the Republic of Mordovia. At the end of each month, the commission makes protocol resolutions intended to solve non-payment issues through joint efforts.
