Aleksandr Novak, the Minister of Energy, President of CIS Power Council greeted the contest participants.“On behalf of CIS Power Council I sincerely welcome you and all CIS countries’ specialists in repair and maintenance of 0.4–10 kV distribution grids whom you represent.
The best industry specialists, winners of qualifying competitions are here today. I hope that the upcoming contest will increase your level of qualification, and the experience gained will help you to ensure high reliability and safety of operation of distribution networks. I am confident that this fair contest will strengthen the traditions of friendship and professional collaboration among power industry professionals of CIS countries,” he said in his welcoming speech. Welcoming the participants, main contest judge Evgeny Grabchak noted that such events demonstrate not only the high professional level of the production staff and its readiness to master new technologies, but also contribute to the exchange of experience and the establishment of partnership and friendly relations between power engineers from different countries.“Uniform standards and common approaches give a positive effect and ensure seamless technical preparation of the power grid complex to the winter maximum loads and, generally, to elimination of possible technological failures. The main category of personnel that takes part in the contest is represented by distribution networks servicemen — those who directly interact with people. Power supply to the end consumers both in our country and the CIS countries depends on how coordinated and quick their work is,” he added.
