Orenburgenergo prepares its electric grid complex for operation in autumn and winter

Employees of Tsentralnoye Production Department (TPD) of Orenburgenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies), overhaul 110 kV Sakmarskaya CHP — Belousovskaya power transmission line.

TPD's staff replace reinforced concrete supports, route wires and install isolators on the section of the line running across the Sakmarsky district. "This 40 kilometer power transmission line was commissioned in 1969 to supply power to communities located in the Aleksandrovsky and Sharlyksky districts of the Orenburg region," said Vasily Sevostianov, Director of Tsentralnoye Production Department (TPD) of Orenburgenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC. Regular maintenance and repair were two prerequisites ensuring over 40-year service life of this power transmission line without compromising quality and reliability of power supplies to residents of two districts. This year, Sakmarskaya CHP — Belousovskaya power transmission line was covered by the electric grid overhaul program. According to this program, Orenburgenergo will replace old supports and wires of power transmission lines, repair transformers and other equipment of the substations. Reaching out to each production department of Orenburgenergo across the region, this program will keep the reliability and quality of power supplies at the highest level. It also provides for preparation of the electric grids for further operation in autumn and winter. In 2016, Orenburgenergo will fix 166 substations (35–110 kV) and 1,592 transformer substations. 279 transformers were delivered for further overhauling to the repair workshop. Orenburgenergo's specialists restored over 1,356 km of power transmission lines of all voltage classes and removed trees and shrubs on about 500 ha of rights-of-way. The repair campaign will be expectedly completed by early October. After that an ad-hoc commission will evaluate the results of Orenburgenergo's efforts and, if successful, will issue a certificate to confirm the preparedness of the electric grid complex for operations during the forthcoming winter period. Similar autumn and winter preparation campaign reached out to other branches of IDGC of Volga, PJSC, including Ulyanovsk Distribution Grids, Mordovenergo, Chuvashenergo, Penzaenergo, Samara Distribution Grids, and Saratov Distribution Grids.
