Moscow, 30 October 2006. The corporate newspaper of RAO "UES of Russia", the Energy of Russia, was named the best corporate newspaper in Russia. It won first prize of the Corporate Press Leader 2006 Awards.

The event is being held within the framework of the All-Russia Corporate Press Forum. It is intended to reward the best Russian corporate periodicals, which will serve as benchmarks for improving the quality of the Russian corporate mass media.

The Awards Jury includes chiefs of the energy sector associations and senior managers of the Russian companies scoring high in reputation rankings, and experts from European Corporate Press Association (ECPV).

RAO UES subsidiaries have also won prizes in various categories of the Corporate Press Leader Awards. The Energy DV, the corporate magazine issued by OAO "Far Eastern Energy Management Company", won the Best Russian Regional Corporate Periodical 2006 award, and the "25+5" internal musical radio programme produced by OAO "Krasnoyarskaya TPP-2", a subsidiary of OAO "WGC-6", was the first in the Best Corporate Radio category. Two books, "Man-Made Sun of Siberia" and "45 Glorious Years", devoted to the creation and development of the Krasnoyarskaya TPP-2, were named the best anniversary publications.

Among the event participants were corporate periodicals published by about 100 Russian companies representing various industries, including the Savings Bank (Sberbank) of Russia, Vneshtorgbank, FGUP Post of Russia, OAO "SUAL-Holding", and OAO "MegaFon".
