“Kolenergo” provides the chair with experts and material resources: training practice ground, training equipment, laboratories, and specialized offices.

Today, October 28th, an official opening of a branch of Energy Industry and Transport Chair of the MSTU (Murmansk State Technical University) on the basis of “Kolenergo” branch of IDGC of North-West has taken place.

Now the students who have chosen energy supply sphere to be their future occupation will study both in the MSTU lecture rooms, and in the territory of the “Kolenergo” branch of IDGC of North-West.

For this purpose, the “Kolenergo” branch of IDGC of North-West has provided their specialists and extensive material resources concentrated in the Educational Centre and Industrial Divisions. Including the training practice ground, training devices, five laboratories and five specialized offices, including rooms equipped with software and computer technologies.

Deputy Governor of the Murmansk Region Alexey Savin, Minister for Education and Science Vasily Kostyukevich, heads of “Kolenergo” and Murmansk State Technical University became participants of the official opening.

The reporters emphasized a great importance of the event. Higher education schools today need to ensure high professional level of students, and energy enterprises need skilled personnel.

According to the director of the “Kolenergo” branch of IDGC OF North-West Sergey Gubich, any system exists successfully only when it has an opportunity of renewal. “Kolenergo” representing a complex high-tech enterprise sees such renewal in employing young specialists with good education. During the period from 2006 to 2008, the number of the personnel younger than 30 years old increased from 15 to 21 percent.

“Kolenergo” has been successfully cooperating with MSTU within the limits of the program “Intellectual potential of the Kola Energy Industry” for several years. Today a new stage of cooperation has started – we have obtained an opportunity to participate directly and regularly in the process of training personnel for the polar region energy industry, Director of “Kolenergo” said.

A symbolic sign of the beginning of a new stage of relations of “Kolenergo” and technical university became a sound of ships bell which was handed over to Sergey Gubich by the rector of MSTU Alexander Ershov.
