From 24 October to 28 December 2006 the unique in Russia virtual festival of amateur video works «24 OCTOBER [BEGINNING]” will be held on UTK’s entertainment media portal "Mediazone".

2006 festival is sponsored by DiSeL, Spider Group, the Krasnodar Youth Committee, Ruskino.ru, I? Dotsmedia, Boulevard on kuban.info, magazine «Week-end in the South», Yuga.ru, magazine «Cinema Art», art house of the line «Different cinema». 

Video works and applications for participation will be accepted till 24th November. The selected works will be placed for free access on the site of the festival on the portal Mediazone. From 15th December visitors of the site will be able to vote on the films they like. The winners will be awarded valuable prizes at the final ceremony of the Festival to be held on 28 December 2006, which is the International Cinema Day.

The first in Russia virtual and real festival of amateur video works «24 OCTOBER [BEGINNING]” started on 24th October last year. People from Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Germany, USA, Japan visited the site, watched the films and voted for the video works they liked. The most active visitors were from the cities of Krasnodar, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don.  9 out of 58 video works presented from many cities of Russia won in different nominations.
