Alstom (jointly with OAO EMAlliance) and General Electric (jointly with Iberdrola) are the winners in the intermediate stage of a tender for performing design work and supplying equipment for construction of a power-generating unit at OAO Mosenergo’s Cogeneration Plant-26

On Tuesday, October 24, Alstom (jointly with OAO EMAlliance) and General Electric (jointly with the Spanish company Iberdrola) were announced the winners in the intermediate stage of a tender for concluding a general contractor’s agreement for turnkey construction of steam-gas power-generating unit ? 8 with installed capacity of 420 MW at OAO Mosenergo’s Cogeneration Plant-26 (TETs-26).

An announcement of the results of the international tender is scheduled for Tuesday, October 31 after additional examination of the proffered bids.

The scope of the work includes construction of the main building with a turbine section; delivery and installation of a heat-recovery boiler with smokestack and auxiliary equipment; installation of electrical rooms, transformer units, industrial water supply system, and gas fuel plant (gas preparation center, booster systems, and diesel generators).

The PGU-420 power-generating unit at TETs-26 will be built within the framework of implementing OAO Mosenergo’s development and technical reequipment Program with the aim of eliminating the power supply deficit in the capital region. PGU-420 power-generating unit ? 8 at TETS-26 will be one of the most up-to-date and most efficient steam-gas power installations in Russia. Commissioning of the power-generating unit is planned for 2008.

According to Yu.E. Dolin, Deputy General Director of OAO Mosenergo for capital construction and purchasing, «the tender has no counterparts in the Russian power industry. Its object is turnkey construction by a major foreign company of the most up-to-date steam-gas power-generating unit in our country. The efficiency factor of the new unit will be no less than 58%.»
