Retrofitting of the transformer substation in the Central district of Orenburg is performed by Central RES of the Orenburg Production Department of Orenburgenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group).
Two transformers of higher output have been installed in the station, sectional breakers and busbars have been replaced.
 “The upgrade was necessary to ensure stable power supply to new consumers without affecting the existing ones”, said Dmitry Lipin, Deputy Senior Engineer of the Orenburg Production Department. “A lot of households with electrical heating are located in Raskovaya, Karagandinskaya, Poligonnaya and Glinki streets. If we don't enhance our systems in summer, winter peak load will bring serious problems as energy consumption during this season grows manifold.”
During maintenance works houses are disconnected.
“We have to do it. Any works on energized equipment are forbidden. However, we try to minimize inconvenience by performing works in daytime”, Dmitriy Lipin says. “We inform the residents of planned disconnections in advance. A list of streets covered by the repair campaign for the next month is published on the website of Orenburg administration during the period from the 25th day to 30th day of the month. One day prior to scheduled disconnections, the respective addresses, date and time are announced on the local TV channel Region, Orenday information portal and other websites.”
Works were carried out during 2 weeks and will be completed on August 18, 2017.
