Specialists of Saratov Distribution Grids, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group), continue reconstruction of the 110/110/6 kV Rakhovskaya indoor substation in Saratov. Currently, preparatory construction and installation works are underway to be followed by replacement of the existing T-2 power transformer with a new 40 MW unit. In order to provide stable power supply to consumers, a mobile substation has been put up for the period of reconstruction.
The reconstruction is to be completed in 2018: power engineers are going to mount a 110 kV switchgear and sulfur hexafluoride circuit breaker assembly, relay protection and automation panels (RPA), ShERA STs and ShERA TT, the new 6 kV indoor switchgear cells and other equipment. Reconstruction of the power facility contributes to improvement of power supply reliability. The substation is a source of electricity for major city companies, such MUE Saratovgorelektrotransport, Territorial Directorate of Heat Supply of Saratov and other consumers.
 Reconstruction of the substation will allow to reduce operating costs, electricity losses as well as to increase connected capacity and create proper conditions for connecting new consumers and increasing net electricity supply.
