Andrey Ganov was born on 17 May 1972 in the city of Syktyvkar, Komi ASSR. In 1995 he obtained a degree from St Petersburg University of Telecommunications in "Multichannel Telecommunication", and in June 1995 he started his employment in the telecommunication industry as a line equipment engineer at the Syktyvkar Telegraph and Telephone Station of the OJSC Svyaz of the Komi Republic. In June 1996 he was transferred to the position of line equipment engineer of the Syktyvkar Branch of the OJSC Svyaz, and in January 1997 to the position of engineer in the international telecommunication group of the Telecommunication Equipment Development and Operation Department of the OJSC Svyaz. In April 2000 he was appointed leading engineer of the international telecommunication group of the Telecommunication Equipment Development and Operation Department of the OJSC Svyaz, and in September 2003 he became head of the Capital Development Department of the Komi Republic Communication Branch of the OJSC North West Telecom. After June 2005 he performed the duties of director for capital development and general operation of the branch, and in November 2005 he was appointed to the position of deputy director for general operation of the Komi Branch of the OJSC North West Telecom.

His first years of work allowed Andrey Ganov to learn about the general principles of telecommunication network construction as well as modern types of transmission systems and switching equipment and to accumulate the experience of advanced planning.

Later, Andrey Ganov directly managed the establishment of a system that included scheduled supply contracts for telecommunication equipment, monitoring of obligation performance by suppliers and contractors, and financial discipline of telecommunication facility construction. Andrey Ganov was tackling large-scale tasks to develop the telecommunication networks of the OJSC North West Telecom in the Komi Republic. He took the logistics and social development of the branch to a new level.

The Vologda Region is a strategically important area for the OJSC North West Telecom, since it is here that transit telecommunication circuits link the northern, western and eastern branches of the company. Under the leadership of Andrey Ganov the Vologda Region of the OJSC North West Telecom will continue to develop the region's telecommunication networks and advanced telecommunication services and to implement national projects for the benefit of the population and organisations of the Vologda Region.

Yuri Alexandrovich Pochekin, formerly Regional Director - Director of the Vologda Branch of the OJSC North West Telecom vacated his post upon retirement.
