MOSENERGO (TGC-3)

July 3, 2002

AO MOSENERGO prepares for winter in accordance with strict deadlines

According to Boris Luschenko, head of the dispatch service of Heating Grids of AO MOSENERGO, exact compliance with the schedule will help complete work strictly on time—before August 15. Afterwards, the company will carry out general equipment checks to end no later than August 28.

In general, by early July, AO MOSENERGO checked and replaced in the Moscow region 1260 km of grid pipelines—54% of total heating grids in the AO MOSENERGO system. During the checks the company detected 2,380 damaged items. Heating Grids specialists have already repaired 2,230 damaged items.

In accordance with the adopted plan, in 2002, the company has to replace 70 km of old pipes. AO MOSENERGO is to lay 12.5 km of pipes insulated with polyurethane foam. In addition, the company will replace and repair auxiliary devices in various parts of heating grids.

A priority goal during the preparation for 2002/2003 is to create required amounts of fuel reserves. By the end of the summer AO MOSENERGO will complete the repairs and testing of 21 pumping stations. The company plans to commission two new pumping stations—Khalilovskaya and Yuzhno-Izmailovskaya.

Heating Grids of AO MOSENERGO budgeted 2.4 billion rubles for repairs and preparation for the 2002/2003-winter season. Earlier AO MOSENERGO said that it had to reduce repairs expenditure due to low electricity and heat tariffs that have no justification from an economic standpoint that were introduced by the Moscow Regional Energy Commission. However, the company managed to conclude some contracts on condition of credit. Thus, the current repairs will make it possible to ensure reliable power supply during the coming heating season. This was confirmed by the general director of AO MOSENERGO Arkady Yevstafyev during a web-conference held in June. According to Yevstafyev, priority repairs of the generation equipment will be completed in full and on time.
