LSR Group

January 13, 2021

LSR Group sums up the results of the first year of navigation

In 2020, the fleet of LSR.Aggregates (part of LSR Group, one of theleading real estate developers and building material producers in Russia) entered the freight water transportation market and transported more than 850 thousand tons of cargo, of which more than 600 thousand tons for third-party customers, overall carrying out more than 270 shipments. The fleet transported timber, metal, scrap metal, as well as aggregates.

In 2020, the geography of company’s navigation stretched from the Bronka port in the Gulf of Finland in the North-West to Nizhniy Novgorod in the Central region of the Volga basin. Dry cargo ships of the "Nevsky" type regularly shuttled along the Neva and the Moskva River. Movement along the main river of St. Petersburg was carried out at night when the drawbridges were open, while in the Moscow region motor ships with low deckhouses were effectively used to pass under fixed bridges.

Timber was delivered on dry cargo ships of the company along the routes from the port stations of Volgo-Balta (Vytegra, Bely Ruchey) to woodworking plants in St. Petersburg and the Lakhdenpohja pier on Ladoga Lake. The metal was transported along the route Cherepovets - St. Petersburg, and scrap metal for remelting - from Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow South port and Yaroslavl to Cherepovets. Over the year, the fleet transported more than 60 thousand tons of metal and more than 6 thousand tons of scrap metal.

As part of the preparation of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region for the winter season, the fleet of the LSR.Aggregates transported more than 35 thousand tons of the mineral concentrate “Halite”, technical salt that is used together with sand against ice formation on roads and footpaths. The company also continued to transport its own crushed granite to the Oktyabrskaya embankment site, where 146 thousand tons of products were delivered in 2020. The towing fleet of the company has towed 14 objects. Among the towed ships were small missile boats that took part in the 2020 Navy Day.

In 2021, LSR.Aggregates intends to start the reclamation of 143 hectares in the northern part of the Vasilievsky Island of St. Petersburg. As a reminder, LSR Group received the rights to raise heights for further development of this area in September 2020. The required volume of sand for the implementation of this project is estimated at approximately 8 mln.m3. The work itself on raising the elevation marks may take 3-4 years. The company plans to build a residential complex with outstanding view characteristics on the new territory. According to preliminary estimates, the area of apartments in the project will be about 700 th.m2. The area of public and business facilities and built-in premises will be about 260 th.m2. "LSR Group" is going to complete the entire project by 2034.
