On working meeting between Alexey Miller and Sergey Vakhrukov

The Gazprom Headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of Gazprom's Management Committee and Sergey Vakhrukov, Governor of the Yaroslavl Oblast.

Alexey Miller and Sergey Vakhrukov discussed the progress with the execution of the Agreement of Cooperation between Gazprom and the Yaroslavl Oblast. It was noted that the parties were timely meeting their commitments to prepare consumers for gas deliveries under the synchronized work schedule.

Background:

The Agreement of Cooperation between Gazprom and the Yaroslavl Oblast Administration was entered into in February 2005, the Gasification Accord – in December 2003.

In 2007 Gazprom supplied the Oblast consumers with 3.17 bcm of gas. This year supplies are projected at the 2007 level.

The Yaroslavl Oblast consumers have no gas debt to Gazprom. As of September 1, 2008 advanced payments account for nearly RUB 250 mln.

Natural gas penetration in the Yaroslavl Oblast totals 68 per cent, with 84.8 per cent in cities and towns, and 18.3 per cent in the rural area. The identical figures throughout Russia average 62, 67 and 44 per cent respectively.

Between 2003 and 2006 Gazprom invested around RUB 283 mln to construct gasification facilities in the Yaroslavl Oblast. In 2007 investments made up RUB 270 mln. The 2008 gasification program for the Yaroslavl Oblast earmarks RUB 360 mln in investment for the engineering and construction of nine inter-settlement pipelines with a total length of 149 km.

This year the regional authorities are planning in their turn to secure the construction of more than 30 km of gas distribution pipelines, putting into operation of five boiler plants and preparation of more than two thousand households for gas deliveries.
