Power engineers of Ulyanovsk branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC have starter mass repairs of substations equipment

Ulyanovskdistribution grids, a branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies) has entered active phase of preparation for the autumn and winter period 2015-2016. In accordance with repair schedule for 2015, personnel of the Northern substations group of the branch was one of the first who started working on the substation Biryuchovskaya. In addition to the planned works, complex overhaul of the substation is conducted as part of its preparation for participation in the annual review competition among IDGC of Volga, JSC substations. In the course of works on the station the power transformer was overhauled: metallic structures and insulation cleaned, silicone gel replaced in dehydrating filter breathers, oil receiving device repaired. Bearing insulation 110kV with exhausted performance potential was replaced in disconnecting devices and isolating switch 110 kV. In addition, personnel conducted technical maintenance on high frequency communication devices – HF capacitors and stoppers 110 kV. These devices are intended for transmission of the high frequency signal and serve as additional channel for communication, data transmission. A large amount of work is to be conducted in restoration of physical and aesthetic condition of the substation: power workers will replace light fixtures, clean rust from equipment, apply anti-corrosion coating and renew dispatch markings and safety signs. Complex of technical measures will improve quality of power supply to several thousands of residential consumers in four residential areas of Ulyanovsk district of the region, as well as some socially important facilities, including schools, kindergartens, boilers and water pumping stations. In total, in 2015 Ulyanovsk distribution grids plan to repair 27 substations throughout the region. This not only greatly enhances reliability and uninterrupted power supply to region consumers, but will become one of the preparation stages of electrical grids for peak loads period.
