Today in Nizhny Novgorod the Lokomotiv Stadium has hosted Gazprom first child & sixth annual Championships which will be held during September, 12-17.

The first child Championship will be another step toward the implementation of Gazprom Program for children. More than 600 children of 11 to 16 years old (children of Gazprom employees) will take part in the Championship.

The competitions of the first child Championship will be held for five sports: quadrathlon, soccer, swimming, ping-pong, and tourist relay. The Championship will be held at the recreational center Lastochka.

More than 2500 thousand sportsmen from 27 Gazprom subsidiaries will participate in the event. The program for Championship includes seven sports: volleyball, soccer, basketball, swimming, athletics, weight lifting and ping-pong. The competitions will be held at the best sports grounds in Nizhny Novgorod.

The Gazprom Championship was held in Tula in 1996. Only 10 Championships (5 summer and 5 winter championships) were organized from 1996 to 2006. In 2006 Nizhny Novgorod became the next place for Championship.
