On working meeting between Alexander Ananenkov and Vyacheslav Shtyrov

Today Yakutsk hosted the opening of the Yakutsk Economic Forum “Megaprojects of Russia”. Gazprom’s delegation led by Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee, is taking part in the Forum.

A working meeting between Alexander Ananenkov and Vyacheslav Shtyrov, President of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) took place in the framework of the Forum.

The participants of the meeting placed the focus on the execution in Yakutia of the Development Program for an integrated gas production, transportation and supply system in Eastern Siberia and the Far East, taking into account potential gas exports to China and other Asia-Pacific countries.

In particular the parties discussed a set of issues related to the Chayanda oil, gas and condensate field development. Alexander Ananenkov informed Vyacheslav Shtyrov that Gazprom had got the subsurface use license for the Chayanda field as well as of the top priority activities being stepped by the Company with regard to re-exploration and commercial pre-development of the field.

Alexander Ananenkov and Vyacheslav Shtyrov examined the progress with the Agreement on the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) gasification and addressed the perspectives for the joint gasification projects to be implemented in Yakutia in 2009 as part of Gazprom’s Gasification Program for Russian Federation Regions.

Background:

In July 2007 Gazprom and the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) signed the Agreement of Cooperation. In June 2008 the parties signed the five-year Accord on Gasification of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia).

The September 3, 2007 Order by the Russian Federation Industry and Energy Ministry approved the Development Program for an integrated gas production, transportation and supply system in Eastern Siberia and the Far East, taking into account potential gas exports to China and other Asia-Pacific countries. Pursuant to the Program, a large production center based on the Chayanda field is projected to be established in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

The Chayanda oil, gas and condensate field is situated in the Lensk region of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The field’s C1+C2 reserves make up 1.24 tcm of gas and 68.4 mln t of oil and condensate.

The license for the Chayanda field is granted to Gazprom under the Russian Government’s Directive # 493-p of April 16, 2008.
