Debts of Moscow regional municipal power suppliers to AO MOSENERGO continue to grow. In February 2004, the total debt of these companies to AO MOSENERGO increased by 598 m rubles and reached 1,459.3 m rubles.

In February, AO MOSENERGO charged regional municipal power suppliers 1,104 m rubles. However, as of March 1, 2004, they paid only 506.3 m rubles; that is 45.9% of the supplied power.

Non-payments of municipal power suppliers threaten the reliability of electricity supply. Lack of payment discipline on the part of these organizations causes inconvenience for the population of the Moscow region. The responsibility for the consequences of non-payment should be assumed by the management of those same organizations.
