Moscow. August 28, 2006. On August 24, 2006, the first for RAO UES of Russia Certificates of Compliance of occupational health and safety management systems to international standard OHSAS 18001:1999* were granted at a solemn ceremony held at Moscow Region Electric Grid Company (MREGC). The ceremony participants included V. K. Pauli, Deputy Technical Director and Chief Technical Inspector of RAO UES of Russia, and Yu. I. Trofimov, Director General of MREGC. The Certificates were granted to the Directors of Podolsk, Volokolamsk, and Shatura Electric Grids (subsidiaries of MREGC).

The ceremony of granting OHSAS 18001:1999 Certificates was a part of the meeting dedicated to the reliability and technical and economic efficiency of operation of electrical distribution systems and the distinctive features of introduction of quality management systems in the subsidiaries and dependent companies of RAO UES of Russia.

* The implementation of international standard OHSAS 18001:1999 in seven subsidiaries of MREGC was started in 2005 as a pilot project focused on the application of the best occupational health and safety management practices.
