UTK’s branch “KabBalktelecom” was awarded a diploma for setting a national record  in the nomination “The most high-mountain fixed web – camera at the height of 3,050 m» and was included in «Russia Records Book». 

The web-camera facing Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe, was installed at temperature of -25?˚ and  wind speed of 20 m/sec in Terskol on Cheguet mountain on December 31, 2005.

IP-camera was placed in thermal box tested by weather impacts with temperature down to -35? and wind speed to 45 m/sec. Video signal is transmitted on-line via  ?DSL line. Near-Elbrus web-cameras can be freely accessed on the sites www.nalchik.ru and  www.elx.ru.

UTK’s Kabardino-Balkarian branch demonstrated great IT opportunities, promoted UTK’s brand of high-speed Internet "DiSeL", expanded use of the Internet to make mountain climbs and search and rescue works safer, opened up new possibilities and recreational prospects of Prielbrusje area for foreign and domestic tourists.
