April 14, the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak inspected the regional construction of energy supply facilities in the execution of orders of the President of the Russian Federation on preparation for work in an isolated mode. The event was attended by Director General of JSC "Yantarenergo" Igor Makovsky. He reported on the pace of construction of power grids to ensure the construction of generation facilities with the necessary capacity.
Today the works on the schemes of power generation (SPG) from new thermal power plants are progressing on schedule. To join networks of Mayakovskaya thermal power plant men have installed 90% of the supports and began to pull the cable through.

"The biggest scope of works is provided by the Scheme of power generation of Pregolskaya thermal power plant. 75 kilometers of high-voltage lines are to be built; the reconstruction of substations 110 kV is being proceeded", — said Director General of JSC "Yantarenergo" Igor Makovsky.
"Yantarenergo" should ensure the connection of new stations to the existing networks. To reduce the performance terms the works on objects of SPG are conducted on a rotational basis. Besides the new construction, the modernization of 12 existing substations is being held. Another 50 of the 68 main substations are provided with modern equipment which will allow the elimination of emergency situations in the networks.

"Russian investors including "Rosseti" implement a large-scale reconstruction program of networks. Steps towards construction and reconstruction of networks will eliminate the risk of interruptions in the energy supply of the Kaliningrad region", — said the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak.
For these purposes "Yantarenergo" will allocate 8 billion rubles in the framework of the reconstruction and development of electric networks of the Kaliningrad region, approved by the Minister of energy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC “Rosseti” A. Novak.

In accordance with the roadmap approved by the Government of the Russian Federation, Pregolskaya (440 MW), Primorskaya (195 MW), Mayakovskaya (160 MW) and Malakhovskaya (160 MW) thermal power plants are being constructed in Kaliningrad, Svetly, Gusev and Sovetsk respectively.

JSC "Yantarenergo" implements activities to enable new generation facilities to the grid, which will ensure the energy security of the Kaliningrad region in the conditions of isolated operation. The net workers will get 302 supports for the 74.6 km length Pregolskaya TPP line, 275 supports along the route at 59.2 km for Talakhovskaya TPP and 185 supports for 38 kilometer power transmission line to Mayakovskaya TPP.

Today 281 people and 67 vehicles are working on all the four sites. For joining the TPP to the current energy system it is considered to involve the construction of 240 km of high voltage transmission lines (110 and 330 kV) and on two lines with a total length of 200 km the ground wires will be mounted.

The replacement of switching equipment for 12 substations of 110-330 kV, to which the line schemes of power generation will be appended, is also being held. The modern emergency response systems are being mounted on the 50 main substations.
