Rostelecom, Russian national long-distance telecommunications operator, with the assistance of GMCS, has implemented automation of its tax return preparation based on Microsoft Axapta.

Based on the elaborated method of tax ledger collection and the pattern of Excel templates established by Rostelecom experts, a document has been set up allowing to promptly and efficiently prepare the Company's tax ledgers. Under creation of such instrument tasks were met that are both telecom specific and intrinsic for the majority of Russian enterprises when filing tax ledgers. The mission to collect data from all Microsoft Axapta modules into a unified reporting as well as consolidate tax ledgers, download received tax ledger data into pre-defined templates was successfully accomplished.

The developed functionality is a complete horizontal solution to be used not for tax ledgers alone but for the establishment of any other sophisticated accounting: managerial, corporate, international.  In Rostelecom an instrument of this kind is integrated with a vertical solution of GMCS Telecom now in use with the Company.

Owing to this new instrument Rostelecom experts can independently make all appropriate tax ledger settings without programmers' assistance that enables a prompt reaction to variable regulatory environment.

This project has had a two-phased implementation: at first functionality for the Company's Headquarters, Rostelecom’s Intercity & International Telephone (MMT) branch (Moscow) as well as Rostelecom’s Southern branch was developed.  Then upon testing and tuning replication of the solution was made to embrace the remaining 7 branches.

This project is a development of a comprehensive automation of Rostelecom operating units' financial reporting. Previously GMCS consultants participated in the realization of automation of combined financial statements, international capital investment accounts and fixed assets (IFRS) preparation on the basis of Microsoft Axapta.
