Moscow, 21 August 2007. B2B-Energo, the information and trading system RAO UES companies use in their procurement activities, has held the largest open tender since the system's launch. The system enabled OAO "WGC-4" to hold a competitive procedure to select a general contactor to build two PGU-400-based power units 800 MW each at the Surgutskaya TPP-2 on a turnkey basis.
Indications of interest were received from over 30 bidders, including OAO "Power Machines", OAO "Electrouralmontazh", OOO "UK KVARTZ", and OAO "Stroytransgaz". The contract was awarded to the consortium of General Electric International Inc. (USA) and Gama Guc Sistemleri Muhendislik ve Taahhut A.S. (Turkey), which offered the lowest cost of construction. The winning bid was in excess of RUB20 billion.
Successful large-scale tenders to procure works and services to design, construct, and equip energy facilities on a turnkey basis provide maximum transparency and non-discriminatory access to the system for all suppliers to the market while optimizing the cost of goods and services procured.
Since the system's launch, over 10,120 open tenders and auctions have been announced on the e-trading floor, with more than 28,270 bids and offers submitted through the system. The B2B-energo's overall trading volume has exceeded RUB133.9 billion. Currently, the system is used by the great majority of suppliers of RAO "UES of Russia" (over 11,600 entities). B2B-users can simultaneously take part in more than 560 online tenders and auctions.
