Power station shut-down is conducted for performing scheduled preventive measures, eliminating of equipment defects and its preparation for the cold season. Power engineers are preparing heat-generating equipment, inner mains of the station for the winter period. It is planned to complete repair works on stop block on August, 17. Within the period of station stoppage its heating loads are divided between other power units – Sverdlovskaya HPP, Gurzufskaya Boiler House and Sredneuralskaya GRES - according to the agreed schedules. These power units are performing water treatment on maximum loads. In connection with the stable low air temperatures and prospective increase of hot water consumption TGC-9 provides for connection of heat-electric generating plant “VIZ” to water supply system. So that power engineers intend to provide hot water supply of residents of the Ural capital in the customary mode. Nevertheless hot water supply limitations under conditions of peak consumption are possible in certain districts of the city and for short periods of time.

Installed heat capacity of Novo-Sverdlovskaya HPP is 875 gKal/hr, installed electric capacity is 550 mW, which is provided by 8 power boilers and 5 heat turbines. The station supplies Ekaterinburg and Berezovsky City with heat.

Within preparation for the winter peak power engineers have already carried out an overhaul of the power boiler and the turbine unit at Novo-Sverdlovskaya HPP. One more turbine is “in the woods”. It is intended to accomplish current scheduled repairs of turbo units No.1, 2 and 3 in September.
